| Bio: | The enigma, the myth, the legend, the man: Alexendrei M. Dagoski... Who is he? You see his shadowy form materialize in the snow laden winds of a Moscow winter. You see him on the beaches of LA, disappearing into the whitewash of a breaking wave. He stalks the streets of Philly looking for cheessteak satori. All this is really just a fancy way of saying "I feel like being opaque today." I'm actually a computer geek, library science student and wannabe hack writer who's led an accidentally interesting life. For more, tune into my live journal. I may even write in it from time to time. And what's with that terrorist mess? The journal's title has many meanings. Part of it refers to a time when I was something between a street hood and the kind of idiot who might've joined some guerilla organization, or, in my case, the US military(meaning I would've joined for the wrong reasons). Partly it's a response to some of the language coming out of the Bush Administration which brands dissent as treason and public service as evil. The specific incident was the one where Cheney referred to teacher's unions as terrorist organizations. More generally, educators and librarians have been looked at with suspicion if not outright fear by the current conservative establishment. Used to be that these dedicated professionals were looked at with respect for the jobs they did and continue to do for way less money than they deserve. I'm currently working towards an MLS and aspire to work in public libraries or as a School Media Specialist(read high school librarian). Basically I want to be Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Just without the demons threatening to destroy the town part. So, if educators are the enemy, as many pundits on the right claim, then I'm proud to be a terrorist. All entries are © Alexendrei M.
